What happened?
In June 2026, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) issued notices of intent to cancel qualifications and statements of attainment issued by Unique College of Technology (RTO 91358) between 1 June 2022 and 2 September 2025.
ASQA's investigation found serious concerns regarding the training and assessment processes used by the organisation. As a result, qualifications issued during the affected period are now under review.
In plain terms, educators who trained with Unique College of Technology may have been issued qualifications they did not legitimately earn. Those qualifications are now under active review by ASQA, with cancellation notices issued to affected individuals in June 2026.
For childcare providers, this is more than a regulatory issue. If an educator's qualification is cancelled, they may no longer meet the qualification requirements needed to be counted in ratio under the National Quality Framework. A centre that is unaware of this change could unknowingly expose itself to compliance risks.
The challenge is that most centres verify qualifications when an educator is hired, but have no practical way to monitor whether those qualifications remain valid months or years later.
How QuickCare responded
As soon as ASQA announced its action against Unique College of Technology, QuickCare cross-referenced qualification records across its platform to identify potentially affected educators.
Within minutes, QuickCare identified more than 40 educators linked to the affected RTO.
Our team then:
· Flagged affected educator records within the platform
· Contacted impacted educators directly
· Shared information about the ASQA review process
· Notified relevant childcare providers
· Provided visibility of potential compliance risks in real time
Rather than relying on spreadsheets, manual audits or waiting for a regulator to identify the issue, centres using QuickCare were able to understand their exposure immediately.
Why this matters
The Unique College of Technology review highlights a growing challenge for childcare providers.
Compliance doesn't stop once a qualification has been uploaded. Qualifications, Working With Children Checks, First Aid certificates and other workforce records can change over time.
A qualification that was valid when an educator joined your service may later become subject to regulatory action. If centres are not actively monitoring these changes, compliance risks can go unnoticed until an audit, assessment or incident occurs.
With the National Early Childhood Worker Register now in place and increased regulatory scrutiny across the sector, maintaining accurate workforce records has never been more important.
The QuickCare difference
Most childcare centres still manage compliance using spreadsheets, folders and manual reminders.
QuickCare provides a smarter approach.
Our platform helps childcare providers:
· Monitor educator qualifications
· Track compliance documents and expiry dates
· Maintain workforce records
· Identify risks before they become compliance issues
· Stay prepared for audits and regulatory changes
When something changes, centres don't have to find out months later. They know immediately.
The Unique College of Technology review is a perfect example of why real-time compliance monitoring matters. While many providers were left manually checking records, QuickCare users already had visibility of affected educators and the actions required.
Stay ahead of compliance risks
Regulatory action can happen at any time. The question is whether your centre will know about it when it matters.
QuickCare helps childcare providers manage workforce compliance, educator records and staffing requirements from one platform, giving centres confidence that their workforce remains compliant and up to date.
